If you’d like MY Museum to host YOUR little one’s party, please read through the information below for costs, available days/times, and FAQs.

MY Museum Birthday Parties Include:

  • *Up to 50 individuals. Includes birthday family and all other guests (both adults and children).

  • 2 hours of private play on the main museum floor.

  • 15-minute early arrival and 15 minutes of cleanup for the party host/parent.

  • Eight-foot tables (2) in the party room with red tablecloths for guests to sit at while eating. Six-foot table for guests to place birthday gifts.

  • Birthday Hosts who will welcome your guests as they arrive, facilitate a fun birthday-themed scavenger hunt throughout MY Museum, take a group picture, and assist with anything else you may need.

  • Goodie Bag for each child ages 2-10.

Cost

  • Member: $395*

  • Non-Member: $435

*Members: Please note that to receive your discount, your membership must be current at the time of booking. Your discount will be applied during the payment process.

Days & Times

Birthdays at MY Museum are available on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays: 5:30 – 7:30pm.

We recommend booking at least 6-8 weeks in advance.

Update (May 2026): We’re fully booked up through June - please reach out via the form below join the waitlist for cancellations and discuss available dates.

Food & Drink

  • Food: We welcome food and snacks (pizza is just one popular example.)

  • Drink: We welcome all kid-friendly beverages. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

  • Dessert: We welcome all sweet treats for your celebration.

Birthday Party FAQs *

  • Please fill out the form on this page and include your Top 3 dates for your party. Any questions? Call us at (831) 649-6444 to discuss your party package. Payment in full is due at the time of booking.

    • Parties cancelled within 14 days will not receive a refund.

    • Anyone who is sick or experiencing flu-like symptoms should not come to the museum. Parties needing to cancel due to illness will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

    • In case of cancellation, you may reschedule your reservation for a future date at no extra cost, dates subject to availability.

  • Museum staff will take care of the cleanup for you!

  • Families may arrive up to 15 minutes prior to the party start time. If you would like to bring additional decorations, please let us know.

  • Adult family members may attend the party. Please note that both adults and children count toward your total party headcount.

  • Reservations are based on a first-come, first-serve basis. We recommend securing your reservation at least 6-8 weeks in advance.

  • You do not NEED to bring anything except yourselves!

    If you would like to enjoy food in the party room, please bring plates, utensils, and paper products. You should also make sure to have candles and some way to cut the cake.

  • The party rooms are festive and do not need additional decorations! Please let us know if you plan to bring additional decorations. Piñatas, Mylar balloons and live animals are strictly prohibited.

  • Private parties can accommodate a maximum of 50 people total, including adults. A minimum of 1 adult for every 5 children supervision is required. There is a $20 per person charge for each guest over the 50 guest count.

  • 90-minute street parking is available for free. A City of Monterey Parking Garage is located across the street from MYM on Washington Street for $7 all day parking. Minimal 2-hour parking is available in the neighborhood. Please share this information with your guests! Parking limits are actively enforced.
